Honeysuckle Hut

Honeysuckle Hut was lovingly built in Redruth, Cornwall by Keith! When the hut outgrew its welcome by his wife, who couldn’t see out of her sitting room window where it was parked, we fell in love with it and the adventure began as she was carefully craned on to a lorry and driven slowly down to Porthallow where we fully fitted her out and gave her a lovely place to be in our woodland.

Following the pattern of a traditional traveller’s wagon, it is a unique and fun place to take a break from today’s busy world.

Not accessible by car and situated amongst the trees in our pretty sheltered woodland, it is completely off-grid. However, the hut is cosy and has the luxury of solar lights and everything you need for as long as you like.

The double bed is comfortable and there is a small sofa and pull-out table. There is plenty of storage under the raised bed and a stable door to enjoy the view of the many woodland animals such as deer, badgers, squirrels, buzzards, owls, rabbits and of course on the clear nights, the entire cosmos.

Attached to Honeysuckle Hut is a canvas shelter made by our friend who is a local sail maker. This provides cover from sun and rain. Under the shelter there is a picnic bench and small gas ring, along with all the equipment required to prepare simple meals. Nearby is a fire basket.

Included in the price of your stay is a delicious Fat Apples Breakfast, served in the café, a few minutes walk through the trees.

The woodland also accommodates a few tent pitches, so if your friends want to join you, they can also book pitches close by. We have basic washroom facilities approximately 200 metres from the hut including a hot shower and WC plus a sink with cold spring water, a small fridge and a kettle plus two plugs for hair drier or phone charging. This is shared with other campers.
